Award winning UVC device and clinical study proves need for disinfection unit in healthcare settings across the world

Tomball, Texas – AUGUST 27, 2019 – Proximity Systems, Inc., a leading manufacturer of innovative health care products, announced they were named one of the of The Infection Prevention Strategy (TIPS) Top Innovations of the Year for UV-CLEAN, their no-touch UVC light disinfection device. Selected from multiple submissions, Proximity was recognized because their device can “make a difference within global health”.

Proximity Systems’ CEO Jeremy Goza is proud their newest product was recognized by colleagues.

“The response to UV-CLEAN since the launch earlier this year has been overwhelming,” he said. “People are genuinely interested in our new product and we believe it will revolutionize healthcare cleaning protocols. We’ve already proven UV-CLEAN’s efficacy in a recent clinical study and peer reviewed white paper, so this award for being one of the top innovations of the year solidifies that we’ve developed a successful product.”

Additionally, Proximity Systems’ VP of Business Development and Senior Care Steve Reinecke won the Don Walker Award for best industry case study at Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) digital health conference, HIC. Reinecke was among 150 industry leaders sharing the latest in research, case studies, new products, technology advancements and health care trends. His presentation and clinical case study abstract, “Evaluating the use of UVC light devices in a clinical setting to reduce pathogens on computer workstations”, received the highest score.

“It was my privilege representing Proximity Systems at HIC and accepting the Don Walker Award for our outstanding achievement in digital health,” he said. “Completing our clinical study was a team effort, and ultimately, we proved UV-CLEAN’s ultraviolet-C radiation can eliminate harmful bacteria, found on high touch areas in healthcare facilities. I believe we won the award because these results were so impactful.”

Being named one of TIPS Innovations of the Year and receiving the Don Walker Award reinforces Proximity’s confidence in UV-CLEAN and UVC disinfection.

“Our product will make a hugely necessary impact on patient health,” Reinecke explained. “Eighty percent of harmful pathogens are transferred by touch, resulting in nearly one hundred thousand deaths a year in the United States alone. The entire global healthcare industry has to do better, and thanks to UV-CLEAN, they can.”

UV-CLEAN is anticipated to change how healthcare facilities protect patients from life-threatening HAIs. As the frontline defense in preventing the spread of infections, UV-CLEAN is the next-generation, automated complement to existing protocols.
